I will maintain lifelong learning through the continuing education courses I will take each year as a teacher, as well as keeping up with the technology that sports develops in the future, as a coach. I will always strive to keep my classes fun and exciting and hope that my students look forward to my class.I am pretty sure I will be able to tell if the technology is not used effectively because if the kids get bored with something, they will let you know. As long as the kids like what they are doing , they will continue to do it without much proding from the teacher. When it is used effectively, technology can help bring up test scores and even help with self -esteem. For these and many other reasons, I will be up to date on the techno-biz.

I believe that it is the teachers responsibility to pre-screen everything that will be shown during class. Just searching a topic may end up directing the student to a site they do not need to be on. I know at our school , they have a prety good filtering system that helps curb a lot of the pop-up ads and adult content, but I have been at schools that didn`t have these filters. At one school I visited, the kids all had laptops and when they were in class the teacher could see what they were looking at from his desk. Having this kind of Web-monitoring is a great way to help keep the kids safe.I also think that clear instructions on what to look at and what not to look at helps the kids focus their attention.

Classroom mix

I would try to balance them by making sure that the technology was not replacing my teaching. the technology needs to enhance the teaching. There are times that I may use a mix of technology, such as powerpoint or I-movie.Other times I might stand in the front of the classroom and lecture, then direct the students to look at something on a certain website,or read something in the textbook. I believe that you need to know the students and what motivates them to learn. If you use a variety of technologies, you are more likely to hit on something that will interest everyone in the class and encourage those authentic learning moments.
